    Basics: creating a new page

    Edit section

    • from scratch: browse to the page where you want to create your new sub-page, then clic on the New Page button (up-left corner). You will enter the edition mode. Write your title (and the body of the page). Once you're done, clic on the save button; the page will be automatically stored as a subpage of where you started from, with the name you chose for the title.
    • from a template: After entering the edition mode of a new page, clic on the template button and choose the one you wish to add to your page in the list. Text from the template will be automatically added to your page. Fill the gaps!
      The templates that we have created specifically for the cleanroom are:
      -Chemicals
      -Machines
      -Resist
      -Process

    Basics: links

    Edit section

    • to put a link to a page of the wiki, or to an http page (or make a mailto link)

    type a sentence
    select it
    clic on L button above (editor mode):

    - if the page already exists, browse for it or type its address (if needed, clic "make a web link")
    - if it does not exist, click directly OK or set the name of the page you want ex: ./bidule
        don't mind about the warning "you're linking to something that does not exist",
      After saving, the link appears with a dashed underline.
      Clic on the link, the page bidule will be automatically created as a sub-page of the page you just edited.

    Warning! by default your browser may not allow linking to local drives or files.
    To enable local links in firefox, add these lines to your file user.js or pref.js with a js editor like the chrome edit extension of mozilla:

    user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "localfilelinks");
    user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.sites", "http://maelle.lpn.prive file:///// file:///");
    user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.checkloaduri.enabled", "allAccess");

    See here and there for more information.

    Basic: permissions

    When you want to set the permissions for one page, or for a page-tree (in More->Restrict Access), you have a choice between three options, knowing that the global site-settings have a higher priority (ie someone who is not logged in -guest- cannot do anything, even on public pages) :

    • Public (everyone has the role 'contributor' -see below)
    • Semi-public (everyone has the role 'viewer', except selected users which can be 'contributors')
    • Private (you have to select which users you want to allow access to, and with which 'role')

      If you choose semi-public or private, so you can choose from different levels (in a list of predefined 'roles')for each selected users (useless settings are barred):

    • none: not used in the site
    • guest: someone who is not logged. Default site setting: no access at all.
    • viewer: read-only
    • contributor: create sub-pages, modify, delete, change permissions
    • admin: same as contributor (a bit useless in that context)

    eg: you may set 'private' for your project page and all its sub-pages (checkbox), and choose 'viewer' for the group 'csnsm-physolid' and 'contributor' nominally to your colleagues working on the project.

    Knowing that:

    • no page is lost, even if deleted,
    • there is a complete history of each page with the contributions of each person
    • You can return to any previous version, and it will be stored as a new version (this will not erase the intermediate history)
    • In all cases, the admin of the site has all permissions on all the content, so if the pages inadvertently become inaccessible to users for reading, this can be remedied.
